Japanese gadget maker Thanko launches a palm-sized video camera that comes in the shape of a DSLR camera. Equipped with a 1 Megapixel CMOS sensor, the ultra small camcorder can capture up to 12 Megapixel still images, and up to 1280x720p HD videos at 30fps. It has a 1.5-inch 480×240 LCD display on the back.

The Thanko SUSMDLC1 uses microSD for storage and supports up to 64GB cards. A 4GB can store up to 30 minutes of video footage. The DSLR-like camcorder will come with a car mount.

Sony adds to its Cyber-shot lineup a new ultra slim digital camera, the DSC-TX66 that measures just 12.2mm at its thinnest part, which is about the thickness of a standard AA size battery. The camera sports a 18.2 Megapixel Exmor R CMOS image sensor and a 5x optical zoom lens. It features super fast AF speed of approximately 0.13 second in daylight, 0.25 seconds in low-light, and packs BIONZ high-speed image processor. The TX66 also includes Extra High Sensitivity technology for enhanced low light performance.

The clear image Zoom technology extends the zoom range from 5x to 10x at full resolution, and the Optical SteadyShot with Active Mode is included to reduce camera shake, allowing users of TX66 to capture blue-free image and videos.
